Spiritual Goal List for 2020 | 12 Steps to Growth

Have you set your spiritual goal list for 2020? Many of us have created our new year resolutions and I’m sure the challenge to uphold those is already creeping in! What if instead of new year resolutions, we create a list of spiritual goals? These can benefit us far beyond the year 2020, because with my plan, you will be hooked on Jesus by the end of it. We all know, the only way to meet goals is to set them. So let’s make you a list of spiritual goals list for 2020!

You have to start somewhere.

We must start today as the year is in full speed. We can put a plan of action together so that we make progress and succeed in our spiritual lives this year!

As we make our spiritual goal list, I suggest dividing them into month-to-month goals. For example, we can set January as the month of prayer. We can learn more about prayer itself and that will open our heart’s desire to pray more. Throughout the month, we could journal daily with our prayers to God and dig deep in the scriptures praying the exact prayers written by the greatest leaders in the bible. This will improve your personal prayer life like never before!

Reconnect, Realign, and Reactivate your life.

As we spend more time in prayer it leads us to reconnect, realign, and reactivate our prayer life with God’s power.

Here are my suggestions for the monthly topics for your spiritual goals in 2020:

January: Prayer. Pray every day and study prayer in the Bible and pray different prayers from scriptures once a week. Write in Journal your prayers daily.

February: Scripture. Read God’s word every day aiming for at least 30 minutes a day. Write in Journal your insight and thoughts daily.

March: Reflection. Reflect everyday into your life and examine your daily habits and lifestyle and implement or take away things that do not line up with God’s will and ways. Write in your journal every adjustment that you make in your life daily.

April: Presence. Get still and into God’s presence in the quiet and away from the noise and confusion of the world for thirty minutes a day. Write in journal the experiences you feel and the thoughts that are pressed into your heart daily.

May: Community. Find others that are seeking to grow spiritually and to grow deeper with God. Initiate new ways and places to meet others either individually or corporately once a week this month. Write in your journal the interactions you had with these new relationships.

June: Fast. Find something that you love like chocolate and fast it for a month. It is proven when we fast there are supernatural benefits in clarity, discernment, and new found strength for ourselves. Write in journal the supernatural benefits you are receiving this month as often as they occur.

July: Freedom. Celebrate the freedom you have been given as a believer in Christ. Celebrate that you are not a slave to sin or darkness anymore. Thrive in the knowledge you are free in the love of God. Write in your journal the outcomes of celebrating your freedom in Christ daily.

August: Volunteer. Give away some of your time and serve others this month. Write in your journal the benefits of focusing on other’s needs and the outcomes that this brings to your life on the days you serve.

September: Nature. This month spend time outside with God in His creation. Make it a goal to spend one set aside time a week outdoors. Write in your journal the experiences you have being one with nature and God.

October: Warfare. This month spend time every day praying against the evil and darkness. Intercede in prayer for the lost and breaking the chains of addictions, bad habits, and more off of yourself, loved ones, or friends. Write in your journal the success of your prayers defeating the devil and darkness through the power of the blood of Christ daily.

November: Thankfulness. express every day your thankfulness to God. Write in your journal every detail that you are thankful for in your life daily.

December: Peace. Bring more peace into your life, relationships, and into your mind. Choose good ways to infuse peace into your life and create a path for peace to be felt. Write in your journal the ways you are implementing to find more peace and the ways you see peace in your life daily.

It’s time to get started on the best year of your life!

Now that you have the topics for your spiritual goal list for 2020 be sure and buy a journal or use an electronic device to keep daily entries. Make the necessary preparations to make these goals attainable. Find a quiet area in your home or office, maybe find the same time every day to do your daily activities and journal.

Remember any level of progress is valuable.

The year 2020 will be an amazing year and a year of revival as we grow deeper with God and more spiritually sound.

Let it go and Let God do it!

“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.” ~Psalm 127:1-2 (NKJV)

Good Morning! I have been thinking on this scripture for over a week and I could not wait to share it with you today. I kept saying it over and over again – and each time I did I gained more confidence. I pray that this short inspirational thought builds your faith today, too!

Every one of us has a calling on our life. Some of us are living it out and others are still searching for God to show them exactly what they should do for His Kingdom. Others of you don’t even realize that God is using YOU right where you are today to impact someone. But the first thought today is this– let God lead you and build your life centered around Him!!! It is working in vain or walking through life in vain if you do not let God build your life!

We must allow God to not only lead our every move but to guard us and take care of our every need. When we are completely aligned in God’s word, in His ways, and surrendered to His will we can only live blessed by Him! If we allow ourselves to rely on our own efforts, continue to live anxious and fearful, then we will never gain true peace.

My challenge this week is: if you are trying to plan your life, make life happen through your own efforts, or continuously worrying over your life then you will never be free. I urge you today to LET GO and LET GOD move through you! Leave your will, your burdens, and your plans at the altar today and give them to Jesus right now! I promise if you will let them go then God will give you more peace and happiness than you could ever dream or imagine! Today let it all go and give your heart and life to God and watch Him move in every area of your life! You will gain peace and sleep like never before!

I love and pray for each of you! Livin’ Lively, Laine

How to trust God when facing the storms of life?

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NLT)

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,

and there are no grapes on the vines;

even though the olive crop fails,

and the fields lie empty and barren;

even though the flocks die in the fields,

and the cattle barns are empty,

yet I will rejoice in the Lord!

I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength!

He makes me as surefooted as a deer,

able to tread upon the heights

Good Monday Morning! I hope you are all well and dry! Here in Destin, Florida we have just endured another hurricane! The rains and winds have been unbelievable but we were so blessed not to have any significant damage! As I was searching my heart on what to share with you today, I knew we had to talk about the storms of life. How do we trust God when our lives are faced with hurricanes: troubled relationships, financial woes, sickness, and so much more? Today’s encouragement will lead us to a greater trust in God.

In the scripture above Habakkuk describes a very dark picture. There is death and lack everywhere. Basically he is describing one whose future looks empty, their today looks barren, and they feel like they have nothing to count on or fall back on. Could this be you today? Are you facing such a storm in your life that your dreams, your finances, and people in your lives seem dead? The good news today is that we can find joy, strength, and trust in God on the worst day of our lives!

The scriptures then say, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” What? How do you rejoice in the Lord when you are facing the hurricanes of life? I can share from my own personal brokenness that in my worst days I can always thank God for saving me! I thank God for loving me when I am at my own personal worst! I thank God that He is my Heavenly Father and that I know He will never leave me or forsake me. I ultimately remind myself that God loves me so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to redeem and rescue me!

When we are able to be thankful and rejoice in the Lord– it will always bring you strength! God will become your focus and not your circumstances! God will start helping you move forward with hope and a greater trust in Him. God will start planting your heart and feet solid into who HE is and who you are to Him! Then as the scripture ends with, “The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” You too will find strength from God. God will help guide your path so that you too will soar high above the storm! You will have a new found level of trust in God and you will overcome through His love and power!

My challenge this week is: if you are faced with a hurricane or storms in your life then right now just thank God for loving you! Thank God for His Son Jesus and for their redeeming love, mercy, and grace. Then lean into God and allow Him to orchestrate your steps out of the darkness, pain, and storms. God will light up your pathway and give you the strength. You will be able to trust God in a greater way and you will have the power to overcome the storms!

God is working behind the scenes for YOU!

Have you ever wondered how God is working behind the scenes for you?

“When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it-quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out.” ~Matthew 6:2-4

I hope everyone has found a new back to school routine easily! Time is flying by so quickly. As I was searching my heart on what exactly I wanted to share today, I felt it was from Matthew 6 where I have been meditating the last few weeks. The thought I have for us today really encouraged me and I pray it brings you hope, too!

In the scriptures above as I was meditating I worked it backwards for today’s thought. First I asked, “Who is working behind the scenes?” The answer is God. Then I asked, “How is God working it out?” The answer is God is working behind the scenes quietly and unobtrusively to help you out!

WHOA! Some of us really need to hear this today!! You may be running out of time. You may be feeling hopeless. Some of you are giving up. I am here to tell you today that GOD IS WORKING behind the scenes in your life today and everyday!! It is His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. God will work it out for your good– you just can’t quit!

If you are feeling hopeless, like you are not getting an answer from God, or wanting to quit–I ask you to meditate on this scripture today! God LOVES YOU so much and He will work out your victory! Just because you can’t see Him right now does NOT mean He is not working on your behalf! I leave you today declaring that God is working behind the scenes quietly and unobtrusively in your life and you will have a life of abundance as He promised you! Email me anytime for prayer, your prayer needs are important to me! laine@whoawomen.com
