Spiritual Goal List for 2020 | 12 Steps to Growth
Have you set your spiritual goal list for 2020? Many of us have created our new year resolutions and I’m sure the challenge to uphold those is already creeping in! What if instead of new year resolutions, we create a list of spiritual goals? These can benefit us far beyond the year 2020, because with my plan, you will be hooked on Jesus by the end of it. We all know, the only way to meet goals is to set them. So let’s make you a list of spiritual goals list for 2020!
You have to start somewhere.
We must start today as the year is in full speed. We can put a plan of action together so that we make progress and succeed in our spiritual lives this year!
As we make our spiritual goal list, I suggest dividing them into month-to-month goals. For example, we can set January as the month of prayer. We can learn more about prayer itself and that will open our heart’s desire to pray more. Throughout the month, we could journal daily with our prayers to God and dig deep in the scriptures praying the exact prayers written by the greatest leaders in the bible. This will improve your personal prayer life like never before!
Reconnect, Realign, and Reactivate your life.
As we spend more time in prayer it leads us to reconnect, realign, and reactivate our prayer life with God’s power.
Here are my suggestions for the monthly topics for your spiritual goals in 2020:
January: Prayer. Pray every day and study prayer in the Bible and pray different prayers from scriptures once a week. Write in Journal your prayers daily.
February: Scripture. Read God’s word every day aiming for at least 30 minutes a day. Write in Journal your insight and thoughts daily.
March: Reflection. Reflect everyday into your life and examine your daily habits and lifestyle and implement or take away things that do not line up with God’s will and ways. Write in your journal every adjustment that you make in your life daily.
April: Presence. Get still and into God’s presence in the quiet and away from the noise and confusion of the world for thirty minutes a day. Write in journal the experiences you feel and the thoughts that are pressed into your heart daily.
May: Community. Find others that are seeking to grow spiritually and to grow deeper with God. Initiate new ways and places to meet others either individually or corporately once a week this month. Write in your journal the interactions you had with these new relationships.
June: Fast. Find something that you love like chocolate and fast it for a month. It is proven when we fast there are supernatural benefits in clarity, discernment, and new found strength for ourselves. Write in journal the supernatural benefits you are receiving this month as often as they occur.
July: Freedom. Celebrate the freedom you have been given as a believer in Christ. Celebrate that you are not a slave to sin or darkness anymore. Thrive in the knowledge you are free in the love of God. Write in your journal the outcomes of celebrating your freedom in Christ daily.
August: Volunteer. Give away some of your time and serve others this month. Write in your journal the benefits of focusing on other’s needs and the outcomes that this brings to your life on the days you serve.
September: Nature. This month spend time outside with God in His creation. Make it a goal to spend one set aside time a week outdoors. Write in your journal the experiences you have being one with nature and God.
October: Warfare. This month spend time every day praying against the evil and darkness. Intercede in prayer for the lost and breaking the chains of addictions, bad habits, and more off of yourself, loved ones, or friends. Write in your journal the success of your prayers defeating the devil and darkness through the power of the blood of Christ daily.
November: Thankfulness. express every day your thankfulness to God. Write in your journal every detail that you are thankful for in your life daily.
December: Peace. Bring more peace into your life, relationships, and into your mind. Choose good ways to infuse peace into your life and create a path for peace to be felt. Write in your journal the ways you are implementing to find more peace and the ways you see peace in your life daily.
It’s time to get started on the best year of your life!
Now that you have the topics for your spiritual goal list for 2020 be sure and buy a journal or use an electronic device to keep daily entries. Make the necessary preparations to make these goals attainable. Find a quiet area in your home or office, maybe find the same time every day to do your daily activities and journal.
Remember any level of progress is valuable.
The year 2020 will be an amazing year and a year of revival as we grow deeper with God and more spiritually sound.
